1: I have never used a Cell phone before?:
We supply simple to follow instructions with each phone. We also provide you with a help line number in case you have any questions.
2: When do I get my phone number?:
We normally issue you with your number at least three days before your phone arrives at your pickup point in Ireland. This allows you enough time to pass it on to family and friends.
3: Can we really receive calls for free.
Yes, it costs nothing to receive calls on our cell phone as long as the phone is in the Republic of Ireland. The person calling you on your cell phones just pays the normal cost of for calling a cell phone in Ireland as charged by their local telephone company.
4: What are Prepaid Phones?:
We use a prepaid cell phone service - this means that you pay for your phone calls before you make them.
Your phone comes with 10-euro call credit.
We recommend you use the 10 euro call credit for making calls within Ireland. This will give you 22 mins peak and 52 mins off peak call time within Ireland. Calls to the US will cost 1.02 euro per minute
If you run out you can purchase additional call credit at most shops , post offices and gas stations.
You will always be able to receive calls.
5:Why do you recommend calling cards?
If calling the US or Canada we recommend you us one our calling cards. You can buy a calling card for 10, 20 or 30 euro.
Using our calling cards you dial a 1800 number and enter a pin code. Calls are charged at 32.0 cent per minute.
6:How do the calling cards work:
Very simple. Dial a 1800 number on the cell phone.
Key in a PIN number. Dial the number you want to call
7: Can I use the phone to call the US or Canada with the credit on the phone:
Yes you can, as long as the phone is in the Republic of Ireland, however we recommend you use one of our calling cards when calling the US or Canada. If the phone is in Northern Ireland or the UK, you can only make calls to numbers in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK. See our rates section for the call costs.
8: Will the phones work in the UK and Northern Ireland:
Yes you will be able to receive calls in the UK and Northern Ireland at a cost of 59 cent per minute. Once in the Republic of Ireland you can receive calls for free.
You will be able to make calls to Ireland and the UK as long as you are on the vodafone network (we provide full instructions on how to select the network).
You will not be able to make calls to the US from the UK and Northern Ireland, but you will from Ireland. Your free voice mail, which will not work in the UK.
9: Will I be able to return the phone at Shannon Airport Post Office? :
No. There is only a post box at the airport, not a post office. The post office is at the town centre, about
2 miles from the airport. They are open Mon to Fri 9am-1pm and 2pm-5.30pm. Sat 9am-1pm.
10: Can I buy additional euros worth of call credit and split it between two phones?:
Extra talk time is applied separately to each phone. For example you cannot order 23 euro call credit and split it between phones.
11: Can an international calling card be shared?:
The international calling card is independent of the cell phones, so one card can be shared by different phones.
12: What type of charger ships with the phone?:
The Li-ion batteries in our phones are good for 3 to 4 days use. We ship a standard Nokia wall charger with each phone. This should be used to charge the phone overnight. If required we can ship 12v car chargers. Please contact use directly to arrange this.
